Jikaerhadap roadrunner yang buatan IBM anda tekagum-kagum, maka bersiaplah berdecak untuk RIKEN. Super Komputer buatan raksasa komputer Jepang, Fujitsu. Kecepatan RIKEN ini 10 kali lebih cepat dari road runner, yakni 10 Petaflop per second (10 ribu kalkulasi per sekon). Untuk diketahui bahwa roadrunner “hanya” memiliki kecepatan 1 Petaflop.
“Otak” dari RIKEN adalah prosesor 8 core milik fujitsu yang bernama Sparc64 VIIIfx. Super komputer ini sendiri masih dalam pengembangan di Japan’s Institute of Physical and Chemical Research dan direncanakan akan selesai pada 2011 kelak. Tentunya RIKEN akan menjadi yang tercepat jika Sequoia yang juga milik IBM jadinya lebih lama. mengingat Sequoia memiliki kemampuan 20 Petaflop.. hahaha
